Chiyanya Tanchangya has been mentally ill since birth. On January 24, a religious ceremony was held at the Harikhola Buddhist Monastery in Teknaf. He left for the ceremony on foot instead of getting into a car.
As the afternoon turned into evening, some "Rohingya" settlers arrested him as a suspect. Later, they took him to a "Rohingya" camp and beat him.
On the other hand, on January 22, at around 10 am, a woman named Barnamala Tanchangya and a young man named Kalu Tanchangya were arrested and beaten by 3 armed "Rohingya" terrorists (ARSA) while they were cutting brooms in the forest in the Ghumdhum Union.
