On 8 October 2025, "Rohingya" militants abducted  an indigenous farmer Mr. Suman Tanchangya (38), son of Rashi Aung Tanchangya from Gorjan Bonia of Naikhyongchari, Bandarban district.

He went missing at 2 pm while visiting the eggplant farm of Gorjan Bonia, 3 km east of his village (Gorjan Bonia).

After the evening, 10-12 people from the village went to search for Suman Tanchangya. They went to Suman Tanchangya’s plantation farm, but found no trace of him. Later, the villagers saw the footprints of 10-12 people on the south side of the farm. At that time, the locals suspected that Suman Tanchangya had been abducted by the RSO and ARSA members stationed in the area.

It is worth mentioning that on 23 September 2025, another villager named Wamong Tanchangya was abducted by the RSO and ARSA militants from Bhalukia of Ghumdhum Union. Wamong Tanchangya has not been found yet.

Earlier, on 16 May 2024, two Tanchangya villagers named Chaila Mong Chakma (29) and Kyamongkho Tanchangya (25) were abducted by the "Rohingya" militants from the sluice gate area of Hoikyang Naf River in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar district while they were fishing for crabs.
