Longadu Massacre of 12 July 1986

On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous people at Baghaichari leaving an indigenous man dead. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous Buddhist man was gunned down by the Bangladesh army.

Bengali settlers murder 5 indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Longudu

On July 12, 1986, 5 indigenous Chakma people of Rangei Para and Guichari Mukh were murdered by the Muslim settlers.

​

The victims were returning home from Boradam, P.S. Longudu, with paddies which they borrowed from their relations. On the way, they were rounded up at a place between Boiragi Bazaar and Gulsakhali by a gang of Muslim settlers who after robbing, murdered these innocent indigenous people.

  1. Surya Bala Chakma, 35 yrs, daughter of Mukunda Lal Chakma, of Rangei Para, P.S. Longudu.

  2. Sudhir Chandra Chakma, 45 yrs, son of Uttara Kanta Chakma, of Pedanyana Chara, P.S. as above.

  3. Ram Chandra Chakma, 35 yrs, son of Khatya Chakma, of Guichari P.S. as above.

  4. Fanendra Chakma, 30 yrs, son of Tagara Chakma, address as above.

  5. Bharat Mohan Chakma, 16 yrs, father's name and address as above.​​​​​
